Performance
OHC ENGINE
The reliable 124cc SOHC single-cylinder engine, which has been produced in a total of five million units, is used in this model. This engine is the result of meticulous efforts to optimize intake efficiency, combustion efficiency, and reduce horsepower loss.
5 Speed Transmission
This model features a 5-speed return-type transmission. The shift sequence follows 1st – Neutral – 2nd – 3rd – 4th – 5th. To shift into 1st gear, you push down on the shift pedal. From there, you lift the pedal up through neutral into 2nd gear, and continue up through 3rd, 4th, and finally into 5th gear.
Design
Cast Wheel
The 5-spoke cast wheels boast a bold, adventurous appearance along with exceptional durability. Since they lack nipple portions, they require no maintenance and are easy to inspect and clean. The tires mounted on these wheels offer excellent grip and wear resistance. Both the front (2.75-18) and rear (90/90-18) tires are 18-inch, ensuring a well-balanced ride.
Fuel Tank
Equipped with a 13-liter fuel tank and complemented by the engine’s impressive fuel efficiency, this setup guarantees an extended range between refueling stops.
Smoked Shield
The Yamaha YBR 125 features a sleek smoked shield that enhances its sporty look while providing effective wind protection. This stylish addition improves rider comfort and adds a modern touch to the bike’s design.
Sporty Seat
The seat on this model features a sporty two-level design that offers a secure, comfortable hold. The tandem section is raised above the main seat to provide both comfort and a supportive riding position. To enhance the overall feel and fit, the seat cover has been finished with a finely dimpled texture.
Stylish Chain-Case
A full chain case crafted from plastic resin seamlessly integrates with the sleek body design, maintaining both protection and aesthetic appeal.
Balancer
Equipping the engine with a single-axis balancer helps reduce vibrations felt in the handlebars, seat, and footpegs, leading to a more comfortable ride. Engine vibrations stem from the inertial forces produced by the piston and connecting rod’s reciprocating motion. To counter these forces, the crankshaft is fitted with counterweights, known as the crank web, which work to re-direct the vibrations. However, relying solely on the crank web makes it challenging to eliminate all vibration, hence the use of the single-axis balancer for improved overall smoothness.
FR. Disk Brake
The front disc brake delivers strong braking performance, along with excellent feel and precise control.
Rear Cushion
The Yamaha YBR 125’s rear cushion works with its durable rear tire to absorb shocks and provide a smooth, stable ride. This combination enhances comfort and control, especially on uneven roads.
